    There seems to be a similarity between making assumptions on DCF calculations and the projections of the portfolio with a 4 percent withdrawal rate. A retired person making an investing decision could treat the 4 percent as if there was an added 4 percent management fee on his security something like what is paid on traditional mutual funds. Someone that is in a trad. mutual fund paying 4 percent management fee already suddenly finds himself with a 8 percent drag.

    In reviewing portfolios that are expressly used to produce a consistent rate of income, rather than relying on an asset class that has, over history, fluctuated greatly ( Treasuries ) - being in a range of low single digit rates for many years (the 1950s and 60s), then rising into the "high teens" (1970s & 80s ) and falling back down to low single digits (the 2010s/2020) - it may be less "unnerving" to explore the use of "alternate" asset classes for this purpose. Testing shows there exist asset classes that have produced a long track record of both portfolio growth and the ability to sustain varying levels of income withdrawal ( 4 - 7%) through a total return process / simple "conditions based" withdrawal strategy. These highly regarded assets have represented the "gold standard" of investments, and it would be assumed that going forward, they should be able to "do the job" of producing a durable, inflation adjusted income steam in retirement, with a low probability of portfolio failure. tinyurl.com/2th9m4r6

    Common sense is more rare than you think. It's time to replace legacy thinking with forward thinking and the ability to think outside the box. To do so, one must first understand for themselves that fiat systems are failures that always lead to corruption, manipulation, and deceit. Embrace a future where value is transparent, decentralized, and beyond the reach of those who seek to exploit it. Let's move beyond the broken models of the past and build a more equitable and resilient financial system.

    Liked it (thumbs up!) even though he took a jab at my Schwab Intelligent Portfolio. For my Roth IRA nothing about Schwab Intelligent Portfolio is complex - sure they hold 20 ETFs, but no taxable events in a Roth, they rebalance it for me, and even have a payout feature. And it's cheap too (15bps all in.) I kid you not, my main reason for buying this was for its overall "simplicity." No question, simpler than having to manually rebalance a "3 Fund Portfolio" then someday manually having to set up a retirement payment schedule. Anyway, I consider myself a Boglehead, but for whatever reason, they're a little slow to warm up to Roboadvisors, or most other new technologies. I hope they don't get stuck in time and gradually fade away into irrelevance with newer generations!

    Validia runs investment models based on the super-investors. Have you considered taking the top recommendation from each model in a blend model, keeping track of which model the recommendation came from removing it when the rules of the model it came from would remove the pick, replacing it from the top pick from the model to see if the blend does better than the individual models ?

    The Fed Funds Rate is the inflation rate. There is no “soft landing”. The rate of inflation flies at whatever rate the Fed sets. This is so easy to understand, and make sense of all the rest. You’ve got to understand this fact.

    • @stiffeification
      @stiffeification 9 дней назад

      Utter nonsense. You can repeat that as often as you want. Inflation would instantly accelerate if they would set it at 0% for example, how could it not, if money was free? The fed responds to inflation with the rate to COUNTERACT it. Inflation was literally 10% at one point, when the fed rate was not anywhere near that. Your "fact" is complete nonsense and NO credible finance expert has ever said something like that.

    • @MichaeldeSousaCruz
      @MichaeldeSousaCruz 9 дней назад

      @@stiffeification you are confusing Inflation with CPI Increases. They are not the same thing. CPI is a guesstimate of an abstract cost of living for a past time period, a beforecast. The Fed Funds Rate affects the term structure of prices on a future basis, a forecast. Inflation is a continuous increase in the price level. With this understanding I’ve been taking lots of money in the market, no fear, no pain, all gain. At 0% there is no “free money”, a dollar just equals a dollar. But any positive % is most certainly “free money”, free money for people who already have money. I already have money, and a positive interest rate is giving me more money, for free. I don’t know who you’re listening to, but you should consider what I’m saying since I’m taking a lot of money from the markets with this information. Remember my name.
